Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about using SuonoSend.
Q. Is SuonoSend free?
A. Yes. SuonoSend is currently free to use, with no account or credit card required. You may see advertising on some pages through Google AdSense.
Q. Do I need an account?
A. No. Both senders and recipients can use SuonoSend directly in a browser. Upload your files or open a shared link without registering or signing in.
Q. How much can I send in one transfer?
A. SuonoSend does not currently set a file-size limit, and you can upload multiple files together. Larger transfers have shorter maximum retention periods: transfers over 50 GB can be kept for up to 7 days, while transfers of 2 GB or less can be kept for up to 60 days. See the guide for the full table.
Q. When do I choose the retention period, and can I change it later?
A. Choose the retention period during upload. The options are 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 30, or 60 days, subject to the transfer-size limit. A period cannot be changed after upload; create a new transfer instead.
Q. What happens when a transfer expires?
A. The files are deleted automatically. The share link then reports that the files do not exist, and downloads stop working. Deleted files cannot be restored, so recipients should download anything important before expiration.
Q. What does password protection do?
A. Recipients must enter the correct password before they can see the file list or download anything. Passwords are stored only as scrypt hashes; SuonoSend does not store the original plaintext password.
Q. How can I delete files before they expire?
A. Open the private delete link shown when the upload completes and confirm deletion. Files are removed immediately. You can also use the Sent files page to manage transfers created in this browser.
Q. How does the recipient get the files?
A. They open the share link in a browser and download the files—no account or app is required. If the transfer is protected, send the password to the recipient separately.
Q. How are files stored and protected?
A. Network traffic is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS). File data is stored in Cloudflare R2 in the Asia Pacific/Japan region, and passwords are protected with scrypt hashing. SuonoSend does not provide end-to-end encryption, so the service operator can technically access stored file data. Encrypt highly confidential files before uploading them.
Q. Where is my sent-file history stored?
A. It is kept only in this browser’s local storage. It is not synced to a server or another device. Clearing this site’s browser data removes the history, so save important delete links elsewhere.
Q. Which browsers are supported?
A. SuonoSend is designed for current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Chromium-based Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported. Core features also work in iOS Safari and Android Chrome, although browser or operating-system limits can make extremely large uploads less reliable on mobile devices.
Q. Can I use SuonoSend commercially or redistribute files?
A. Commercial and non-commercial transfers are both allowed, but you are responsible for the rights and legality of anything you upload. Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy, or other rights—as well as illegal material and malicious software—is prohibited. See the Terms of Service.
